Client:
Canada’s leading high-end national fashion retailer
Challenge:
Our client’s legacy payroll system was going end-of-life and they had selected Workday as the replacement system. We were tasked to design, develop and implement all integrations between Workday, 3rd party services, and legacy applications while working alongside a Workday partner who handled functional configurations.
The solution portfolio included integrations with banking partners, insurance providers, a variable compensation commissions calculator, an on-premise financial management system, and an on-premise legacy SQL database of employee records. These integrations required significant data orchestration between the various systems, and as a payroll project, it was critical that the system worked flawlessly from day one.
Solution:
Dispatch used a variety of methods to develop the integrations, including Workday Studio, Enterprise Interface Builder (EIB), SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) and SFTP file transfers. We worked closely with the client, their Workday partner, their banking and insurance service partners, and 3rd party software vendors to complete the solution. The client relied on Dispatch to develop a comprehensive test & validation plan that addressed all integration use-cases. Due to the urgency of the project and the sensitivity of payroll integrations, quality assurance processes were incorporated throughout the entire project lifecycle.
The result was a successful implementation that was on-time and on budget. The client was delighted that there was no disruption to payroll and the integrations ensured automated workflows and data transfers continued uninterrupted.
