Turning Business Problems into Business Possibilities with Agentic AI at World of Workato
Aug 25, 2025
In an interview at the 2025 World of Workato conference, I had the opportunity to share Dispatch’s perspective on the future of automation and AI. Our point of view is shaped by experience: for seven consecutive years, Dispatch has been recognized as a Platinum Partner, working alongside Workato and our mutual customers through every major phase of the platform. From early integration releases to today’s agentic AI capabilities, we’ve helped enterprises translate new features into real business outcomes.

That history is why our conversation this year centered on what mattered most at WoW: how enterprises can navigate the fast-moving world of Agentic AI as another tool to automate the ways enterprises can turn business problems into possibilities for productivity gains, cost reduction and overall business transformation.

Addressing Baseline Enterprise Integration Needs with Workato

When I talk with executives about automation, I often describe it as a hierarchy of needs. At the base is integration. If your systems can’t reliably share data, it’s nearly impossible to move work forward.

That’s why integration is the foundation of every automation journey. It’s not glamorous, but it’s essential. Without clean, dependable connections between your core systems, every attempt at streamlining workflows or introducing AI agents is built on shaky ground.

In our integration and automation services, we help companies identify where those integrations matter most, prioritize what unlocks immediate value, and then set the stage for everything that comes next. Then, the Workato platform has enabled us to deploy integrations and establish their foundation quickly.

Business Process Orchestration that Goes Beyond Swivel-Chair Work

Once integration is in place, the next level is orchestration. Too often, we see employees bouncing between multiple screens, manually stitching together steps in a process because systems don’t talk to each other. We refer to this as “swivel-chair work”. It’s both inefficient for the business and highly frustrating for the people involved.

By leveraging Workato’s automation capabilities, our team at Dispatch moves the work to where people already are instead of forcing them to adapt to fragmented systems. This gives employees back time, reduces friction, and allows organizations to operate as one cohesive business rather than a collection of siloed departments and processes.

Orchestration transforms processes into something more natural, fluid, and human-centered. And once that layer is working smoothly, the stage is set for the most exciting developments yet.

Understand The Real Barriers To The Promise of Agentic AI

This is where the conversation is moving fast. With the latest evolutions of the Workato platform, there is now the ability to add AI agents that can plan, reason, and act across systems.

But here’s the key: agents can only deliver value when the underlying integrations and orchestrations are solid. If the process is broken or the data is unreliable, adding agents only compounds the problem. That’s why we emphasize business process understanding first. Our team brings all the right stakeholders together to fix the flow of the work, understand if the foundation is in place, and then invite AI to participate.

When enterprises take this approach, agentic AI shifts from a buzzword to a real enabler of possibilities. It allows teams to experiment, iterate, and create new solutions that once seemed out of reach. At the onset, we get everyone rallied with simple “victory statements” that define clear high-five moments, then build confidence through quick six-week cycles of success.

Creating a Culture of Iteration and Innovation

When solutions take two years to deliver, teams only have the energy for one or two projects a year—and innovation stalls. One of the things I value most about our partnership with Workato is speed. Together, we can move from identifying a problem to deploying solutions quickly. That cadence makes progress in integration portfolios sustainable and agentic roadmaps more realistic

When you can see progress and iterate quickly towards new outcomes every few weeks, creativity flourishes. Teams see what’s possible, and they start suggesting new ideas. AI and automation stop being abstract concepts and start being practical tools to drive business forward.

As I said during my interview, AI today still sits mostly at the edges of business processes. But we’re beginning to see movement toward the core. Enterprises are experimenting, learning where failure is safe, and building competencies that will allow them to tackle mission-critical workflows with confidence.

No one can predict exactly what next year’s WoW conference will bring. The pace of AI is too fast, the possibilities too expansive. What I hope is that more enterprises will heed the call from WoW embrace the foundational work of integration, to orchestrate smarter workflows, and to step boldly into the agentic future.

At Dispatch, we believe the real story is about AI creating opportunities, driving competitive advantage, and turning stubborn business problems into new business possibilities.
